Susie Charlie is a well-known award-winning Navajo Nation Potter credited for her meticulous hand etched and hand painted traditional, yet contemporary colorful pueblo, wedding, and seed pot pottery. Her blending of modern and traditional style of pottery; with intricate geometric designs and hand incised feather etchings is very popular to Native American Indian Pottery Collectors. She is full-blooded Navajo and was a mentor to her children having passed down her trade of painting and etching pottery free hand to sons Brandon, Michael, and Myron H. Charlie, who began crafting pottery in 1985 at the tender age of 14; and to her daughter Terrie Charlie; who are all accomplished, and award-winning artists in their own right. Susie crafted all types of different shapes and sizes of pottery in her lifetime; using vegetation dyes and clays gathered from the Canyons of her local Navajo reservation and she signs her art as Susie Charlie, Navajo.
