VINTAGE NAVAJO NATIVE AMERICAN STERLING SILVER LARGE #8 TURQUOISE RING sz 6.5

  
On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver ring adorned with a beautiful, large natural hand-cut and polished cabochon southwest desert sky blue TURQUOISE stone, foliage leaf and wire work motifs. The turquoise stone is characteristic of material from the number 8 mine region of northern Nevada. This ring is not hallmarked which was quite common in earlier Native American jewelry prior to the 1970's. We believe this ring was created circa 1960 or perhaps earlier. This classic ring was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the NAVAJO way and is in very good vintage condition (see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The fine, hand-cut and polished natural southwest desert sky blue with golden brown matrix turquoise stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is firmly and securely set in a plain silver bezel on a plaque surrounded by silver wire work and a large silver leaf. 1" long x 1/2" at widest. The ring's plaque measures approx. 1 1/4" long x 1" at widest.

The split shank band measures approx. 1/4" tapering to 3/16" wide. This NAVAJO ring will fit approx. Size 6.5 and weighs 8.8 grams. 925 sterling silver and natural southwestern turquoise ring would make a fine addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver and Stone Jewelry, American Turquoise or Historic Cultural Arts and Crafts collection.
