Vintage Signed Old Pawn Navajo Sterling Silver Large Natural Turquoise Bolo Tie

  

On offer is an authentic, large handsome vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver fancy BOLO - BOLA TIE adorned with an amazing brilliant southwest sky blue hand cut and polished natural turquoise rough cut cabochon stone that is most likely from the mine regions of Nevada. The BOLO is hallmarked S TERLING, J F most likely for the maker Johnnie Frank.

We believe this large impressive BOLO tie was created circa 1970. This traditional Native American BOLA - BOLO TIE was crafted with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). This has a heavy figure eight (8) clasp that is in good working order. The fancy silver plaque is adorned with a hand stamped motifs, decorative overlay and silver rope surrounding the large natural Nevada brilliant blue turquoise cabochon stone. The natural shaped rough cut turquoise cabochon stone measures approx.

1 1/2" long x 1" at widest. It is firmly and securely set in a serrated silver bezel and is in very good condition with no chips or cracks.

Any white or other marks are reflections in the photo not imperfections. The bolo plaque is attached to braided black leather cord that is clean, strong supple and wearable. 37" long including the 2 1/8" long silver tips. Overall, the fancy bolo plaque measures approx. 2" long x 1 1/2" at widest. The silver and turquoise bolo with leather cord weighs 50.1 grams - 1.610 ounces TOTAL. This classic vintage Navajo sterling silver and natural southwestern Nevada Turquoise BOLA - BOLO TIE crafted by a very skilled silver artist would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Jewelry, Southwest American Turquoise, Western Costume Accessory or Historic Cultural Arts collection.
